Poem of the Month

  It Really Does Count 

Don’t even think about buying me anything 

I see you trying to find some way to reward me for giving all of me to you 

Doesn’t matter what you buy because it won’t keep my desire to be around you on the highest of levels 

So I don’t need to be showered with your gifts 

When I have you

 The biggest present ever 

The greatest gift of all 

The best wish I’ll ever make 

It’s you that I love 

I give it to you 

You receive it  

We don’t owe each other anything, 

When we both deserve everything 

Should you decide to get me something anyway, 

Knowing that I’m against it 

I won’t love you any less 

I’ll admire you more 

I know that whatever you purchase can be returned or exchanged 

Like it or not, I’ll accept it.  

I also know that it’s the thought trapped inside of the mind of your beautiful self that enables you to add buying me something to the list of wonderful things you do for me for no reason. 

It’s the very thought from you and the reason behind what you do for me that will always be the priceless gift you give that I’ll never return or  exchange. 

So I throw away the receipt…
